Math update with Mrs. Neal

Hello all!
This week in math we wrapped up our work with multiplication and division. Your student should be multiplication and division masters! Now we want them to work towards fluency with their multiplication and division facts. Please continue to practice with them regularly on mastering their facts. If ever you need ideas for practicing math facts, I have a tab on my blog (the 4th grade blog) that is called math facts. It has tons of ideas, websites, games, and even IXL assignments for practicing math facts. The homework this week will be as follows:
Week of 12/11
3rd grade:

It was so great to meet with each of you and discuss the progress your child is making. Thank you for taking time to meet with me!

Reading: This week we determined the setting, conflict, main characters, theme, and solution on two books by the same author: Click, Clack, Moo Cows that Type and Giggle, Giggle, Quack.  Next week, we will be comparing and contrasting the two books we read from last week.

Grammar: This week, we wrote a letter to Santa to submit to the Lahontan Valley News. They will only have their first names on the letters, and we were told not all letters would be printed due to space constrictions. It should be fun to see them! The letters chosen will be printed in the December 22nd Edition of the Lahontan Valley News. This week we will write friendly letters to a classmate to continue practicing our format of letters and addressing envelopes.

Projects: This week we continued with their "51st state." Next week, students will practice presenting the state projects and making any last fine tuning. We are almost finished with this project. Stay tuned for a date and time when your child will presenting their project.
