I hope you all enjoy your spring break with your kids!
Reading: Last week we continued to learn about the main idea and supporting details of nonfiction texts. When we get back from break, we will be comparing and contrasting the important points from two texts on the same subject. We will also give out new spelling lists. The spelling test will be on 4/19/18.
Writing: We continue to practice cursive everyday. Last week, started a new informational writing on Abraham Lincoln. When we return, we will be doing writings from all of the formats we have learned this year: opinion, narrative, and informational.
Grammar: Last week, we reviewed parts of speech. When we return, we will be reviewing subordinating and coordinating conjunctions, and simple, compound, and complex sentences.
Projects: Last week we put the finishing touches on the projects and practiced presentations for the presentation on Thursday. When we return from break, we will be preparing for our student-led conferences.
Homework: Read 20 minutes everyday and study for test.
Conferences will be on Friday, April 13th, from 8am-1pm. It is an open house style. Come anytime during those hours with your child.
